Frequently asked questions

How accurate do the start and end dates need to be?

The project start and end dates are estimated dates. It's best practice to overestimate the end date.

Why is the owner's information needed?

The owner’s information must be included in the Notice of Intent application. Except in the case of leased property, an owner is the party that has ultimate control and responsibility over the project. In the case of leased property, this role belongs to the lessor.

Can anyone be designated the signatory?

For corporations, the application shall be signed by a president, secretary, treasurer, or vice president of the corporation who is in charge of a principal business function, or by any other person who performs similar policy- or decision-making functions for the corporation. For a general partnership, the application shall be signed by each general partner in the partnership. For a sole proprietorship, the application shall be signed by the proprietor. For a municipality, state, federal, or other public agency, the application shall be signed by either a principal executive officer or a ranking elected official.
