Frequently asked questions

How accurate do the start and end dates need to be?

The project start and end dates are estimated dates. It's best practice to overestimate the end date.

Why is the owner's information needed?

The owner’s information must be included in the Notice of Intent application. Except in the case of leased property, an owner is the party that has ultimate control and responsibility over the project. In the case of leased property, this role belongs to the lessor.

Can anyone be designated the signatory?

For corporations, the application shall be signed by a responsible corporate officer. For a partnership or sole proprietorship, the application shall be signed by a general partner or the proprietor, respectively. For a municipality, state, federal, or other public agency, the application shall be signed by either a principal executive officer or a ranking elected official.

What is a CDX account?

A Central Data Exchange (CDX) account is required to access the online portal that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) uses to collect reports and permit applications. Please see the CGP-NeT Quick Start Guide for more information about setting up an account.
